Bluewater Lagos Summer Fun Sailing Weekend for Cruisers: 3rd, 4th, 5th July 2009

This tremendously popular Bluewater Fun Sailing Weekend for Cruisers will be held on 3rd-4th-5th July this year in LAGOS waters in the Algarve, Portugal, and is organised by Bluewater Algarve in association with ourselves and the Clube Vela de Lagos. There will be a total of five races (to include one long race on a suitable day).

We are particularly keen to make this year's event really special as it is both our and Rally Portugal’s 15th Anniversary. The boats entered for Rally Portugal will finish the rally and have a week to relax in the beautiful Algarve before the start of the fun sail weekend. The aim of the event is to encourage everybody to get out on to the water and have fun - which is not to say that it doesn’t get a little competitive out there! Last but not least, 2009 marks 10 years of Bluewater Algarve, who were established here in 1999.

This really will be an event to remember!

The charge for participation in this fun sail event is amazing value at 50 euros for boat and skipper, and 40 euros per additional person, either crew/social ticket to join in the fun.

For this you will receive:

berthing in Lagos Marina for the event for visiting boats (subject to availability - first come first served) so book early to guarantee your berth from noon on 2nd July to noon on 6th July;

Musto race shirts (for everyone!);

drinks during race results on 3rd and 4th July in South Bar in Lagos Marina;

an all-inclusive themed party on the final night, 5th July, for final results and prizegiving - food, drink and live music.

The final night party will be held at the Duna Beach on Meia Praia, which is part of the Tivoli Group. There will be a Greco-Roman theme to encourage everyone to dress up and really make the evening the greatest party ever! We have also been able to negotiate some really great rates for those who would like to stay at the Marina Club Suite Hotel**** for the duration of the event - just contact the organisers for details.

Photographs will be taken during the event, and these will be available on DVD after the weekend – a chance to see your boat out on the water having fun – and partying!

Remember, if you are a motor boat person rather than sail, you are more than welcome to join in the fun – come and watch the races, do a bit of fishing and maybe even get your catch cooked for you on Sunday! Don’t feel excluded just because you don’t have sails – if you want to take part let the organisers know and they will find you a place on one of the boats in the fun sail.
